Replies #4 and #5 connect access to the doll area with accepting the quest. If you explored earlier, the cave may be worth revisiting.
Return to northeast Fangroot Forest
Two players identify the rat-nest entrance at the northeast / top-right of the forest.
Search the eastern part of the rat nest
One reply describes an eastern side tunnel; another places the doll toward the rightmost part of the nest behind a difficult encounter.
Recheck the route if it looked closed before
A later reply describes a previously explored cave with a wall opened after accepting the quest. The source does not supply a coordinate or a screenshot.
